Jesus was in the wilderness forty days, being tempted by Satan.  He was with the wild animals, and angels attended him. Mark 1:13

Like taxes, one other thing that is very sure in life is adversity. No one is exempted from it. Your name will not save you from it; your fame will not either. And no matter how good you are at playing the game of life, you can’t avoid it but you can overcome it.

Tiger Woods, the world renown golfer, had another dose of it in the last one week in a very traumatic accident. We pray for his speedy recovery.

The wilderness is filled with dangers, trials and temptations. Jesus was there and he faced the archenemy himself, Satan, and wild animals. Only heaven could tell what he went through in those forty days.

Wilderness is real but one thing we can count on is God’s comfort, … even in the wilderness. Scripture says angels were deployed to give Jesus comfort … in the wilderness. Wow!

Friend, the goodness of God doesn’t exempt us from a detour into the wilderness but his goodness brings us comfort while there. Those angels of God can come in different forms. They may not have any wings left; their presence may not be heralded by blinding light, but that doesn’t diminish their mission in our life.

Are you in the wilderness of life right now? Take heart and enjoy the comfort that God brings. If you look well, you’ll find those angels that God sends your way. We just need to be humble enough and open our hearts to receive them. It’s okay to ask for help and it’s okay to receive help. They are God’s mercy drops in the wilderness of life.

I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread. Psalms 37:25
